--Prevents drafts! A replica of Aomori's 583 series with recessed gangways and emergency exits!

- At the time of privatization, the 583 series, which was allocated to Aomori Depot, was used for the Hakutsuru, Yuuzuru, and Hatsurai express trains as well as the Tsugaru and Akebono special trains.
- After regular service ended in 1994, this locomotive was used for non-recurring transport, but when the Tohoku Shinkansen was extended to Hachinohe in 2002 and the Hatsukari express service was discontinued, this locomotive was transferred to Minamiakita Depot and Sendai Electric Railway Depot, and no more locomotives of this type are in service.

[Actual vehicle guide]
- The 583 series is a version of the 581 series, which was introduced as a daytime and nighttime express train, that is compatible with three power sources: 50/60Hz AC and DC.
- Trains incorporating the KuHaNe 583 series were mainly used on the Tohoku Main Line.
- At the time of privatization, the vehicles allocated to Aomori Depot were used for the Yuuzuru, Hakutsuru, and Hatsukari trains, as well as the Tsugaru express and Akebono special trains. However, after regular service ended in 1994, they were used for non-stop transportation.
- In 2002, the Tohoku Shinkansen was extended to Hachinohe, and the Hatsukari express service was discontinued. The 583 series trains from Aomori Depot were transferred to Minamiakita Depot and Sendai Depot.
- Some of the 583 series cars stationed at the same station underwent interior work, such as replacing Venetian blinds with curtains, as part of the renovation work, and at the same time the conductor's compartment windows of the Salo 581 series cars were made smaller.
