Product Description

- The first ship of the Hiyo-class aircraft carrier, Hiyo, which has a unique shape as a converted merchant ship, is now available with new parts!

- The product is based on the appearance during Operation A/Battle of the Mariana Islands in June 1944.
- Reproduces the ship's shape and features that differ from when it was first built, such as the blocked portholes to prevent it from sinking and the increased number of machine gun turrets compared to when it was first built.

- Newly designed parts are available to standardize the differences in the reproduction of equipment, etc. depending on the product release date, and some parts are divided to take painting into consideration.
- The No. 21 Type 6 radar for the bridge and the insulator base for fixing the elements on the front side are depicted with more delicate engraving than previous accessory parts.
[BB] The No. 21 radar at the rear of the flight deck is depicted with more delicate engraving than conventional accessory parts, including the two-stage insulator base for fixing the elements.
[MM] The 12m internal combustion boat is designed to be painted, with the canvas, wheelhouse and engine room canopy made into separate parts. Each part is painted first, and then assembled and glued later.
- Made of three parts, the boat body and the loading area floor are separate parts and can be assembled after painting, eliminating the need for masking.
[PP] The 12-meter internal fire launch can also be expressed in its shape without the canvas.
- The shipboard stand has been molded to recreate the uneven shape and light holes, giving it a more precise appearance.
-A new chrysanthemum crest has been added to the bow.
- A pair of portlights, which have previously been omitted from the modeling, are now available as additional parts.
- Added a decal containing the ship name on the stern (painted in naval colors).
The Type 96 25mm triple machine gun/single machine gun are standardly designed as two-part components which reduces the need for painting/splitting the paint.
- Includes four historically accurate models (Zero Fighter Type 52, Type 21 (with bombs), Type 99 Carrier Bomber Type 22, and Tenzan Carrier Attack Plane).
The 9-metre cutter is made into two parts to allow for painting, and the stand is available as a separate part, or you can choose to have it molded as a single piece with the deck.

- The hull is divided into left and right halves, recreating the rounded shape unique to merchant ships.
- The portholes lined up on the sides of the ship are intricately sculpted in both blocked and unblocked states.
- The portholes on the sides are represented by concave carvings, and the eaves are also reproduced by convex carvings.
- The anchor chain deck at the bow is a single component with anti-slip strip patterns, bollards, hawsers and a three-dimensionally carved anchor chain.

- The flight deck is carved with a wooden deck and consists of two parts from bow to stern.
・Special parts are prepared for the front end of the flight deck for both Hiyo and Junyo. The Hiyo has a large radius at the front end corner.
- The elevator can be assembled either in the raised position or lowered into the hangar.
- The truss structure on the underside of the bow and stern of the flight deck is expressed as a three-dimensional sculpture.
- The crane on the flight deck is in the stowed position and the crane is in the upright position.

The base of the bridge is made using a slide mold to create a one-piece molded part with engravings on five sides.
- The chimney, which is integrated with the bridge, is separated into left and right parts, and the steam exhaust pipe and support pillars are detailed as separate parts.
- The funnel cap is precisely sculpted in its "removed" state.
- The bridge (air defense command center) includes binocular telescope parts for added precision.
- The anti-aircraft gun mounts and machine gun turrets on the sides of the ship are made into separate parts, and the strip pattern on the floor is expressed with intricate carvings.
- Some of the planks on the floor of the anti-aircraft gun mount have been carved to recreate the thickness and pattern.

- Radio antenna support, landing guidance lights, landing lights, and other shipside equipment are recreated as multiple separate parts.
The triple 25mm machine gun is precisely sculpted and comes in two parts that are easy to paint, and the 2018 molded parts are included as standard.

- A total of 16 aircraft from four different models used in the Battle of the Mariana Sea in June 1944 are included.
- The types of aircraft included are 4 each of the Zero Fighter Type 52, Zero Fighter Type 21 (with bombs), Type 99 Carrier Bomber Type 22, and Tenshan Carrier Attack Plane, molded in gray.
-Four A6M Zero Type 52 carrier-based fighter planes are included, with the windshield and propellers made into separate parts to take painting into consideration.
- Four A6M Zero Type 21 (bomb-loaded) carrier-based fighter planes are included, with the drop tanks on both wings and the 250 kg bomb under the fuselage reproduced as separate parts.
-Four Type 99 carrier bombers are included, with the Type 22 model having enlarged dorsal fins and an enlarged canopy shape.
-Four Tenzan carrier attack aircraft are included, with their characteristic four-bladed propellers and the 250 kg bomb suspended under the fuselage depicted as separate parts.

- The main parts, bottom plate, aircraft carrier, machine gun parts, etc. are molded in gray.
