[About the actual machine]
- The F-35A Lightning II is the aircraft that the Japan Air Self-Defense Force has begun deploying as a successor to the F-4 and F-15 fighter jets.
- It is a fifth-generation multirole fighter jet jointly developed by an international team, led by Lockheed Martin of the United States.
- This single aircraft was designed to be capable of a variety of missions for not only the Air Force, but also the Navy and Marine Corps.
- While they share the same basics, they have different specifications depending on how they are used.
- The F-35A, a conventional takeoff and landing aircraft, was developed for the Air Force.
- The aircraft is equipped with a single Pratt & Whitney F135 turbofan engine.
- The aircraft has a highly stealthy shape and is equipped with a weapon bay, within which missiles and other armaments can be stored.
- There are also six hardpoints under the wings.
- It went into operation in 2016, and was deployed and put into operation by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in 2018, where it serves as the latest flagship fighter aircraft.

- The model is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the F-35A Lightning II, newly deployed and put into operation by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
- The kit uses parts made by Italeri of Italy.
- This kit features a selection of markings for the commemorative painted aircraft produced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the 302nd Squadron in September 2024.
- Don't miss the large illustration of a white-tailed eagle painted on the vertical stabilizer.
- The lettering on the main landing gear covers and the markings on the sides of the air intakes are also faithfully reproduced.
- And the distinctive F-35A appearance is made by Italeri parts, which are highly acclaimed by model enthusiasts.
- The shape is also accurately represented.
- The engine is assembled inside the fuselage using only a few parts.
- The weapon bay panel on the underside of the fuselage can be assembled in either the open or closed position.
- The interior of the weapon bay is also realistically modeled, and a wide range of armaments are included, including the AIM-9X, GBU-12, AIM-120 AMRAAM, and GBU-31 JDAM1000.
