Product Description

The M3 half-track is a US military armored half-track for troop transport developed based on the M2, which was developed during World War II to tow a 105mm howitzer.
The M3, standardized in August 1940, had an extended rear troop compartment for infantry transport and no ammunition boxes, increasing the crew size to 13 compared to the M2's 10.
The M2's gun rails that were installed all around the rear of the troop compartment were eliminated, and instead a gun mounting post was installed in the center of the rear troop compartment.
Later, an improved version of the M3 was developed with an M49 ring-mounted machine gun mount on the upper right side of the cockpit to strengthen its self-defense capabilities, and was standardized as the M3A1.
A total of 12,499 M3s and 2,862 M3A1s were produced.
