15cm self-propelled howitzer in North Africa
This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the III 15cm s.IG.33 automatic howitzer, a self-propelled howitzer modified and built by the German army on the North African front during World War II.

[About the actual car]
During World War II, numerous combat vehicles were produced, but there were also many examples of vehicles hastily constructed to suit the conditions on the front lines.
One of these vehicles was a self-propelled howitzer, mounted on the chassis of a Panzer III tank and equipped with a 15cm sIG33 howitzer.
The German Africa Corps, whose main battlefield was the desert, had many field guns which were not suitable for being towed, so they considered converting them into self-propelled guns.
The 15cm sIG33 served as the German army's main infantry gun throughout World War II.
It was one of the largest artillery pieces equipped to infantry units and was effective in attacking defensive positions, but it weighed 1,750 kg, so by making it a self-propelled gun it was aimed at making it more efficient to operate.
The vehicle was a Panzer III H-type tank with a damaged turret, with the fighting compartment modified to an open top and the sIG33 gun mounted inside.
It was used as a self-propelled howitzer.
It is said that only one vehicle was ever made, and it was deployed to the 90th Light Division established in North Africa, where it demonstrated its capabilities against British forces.

[About the model]
This model is a 1/35 scale plastic assembly kit of the Panzer III 15cm sIG33 self-propelled howitzer, said to be the only one built on site.
Just like the real thing, it is made up of a combination of Panzer III parts and 15cm s.IG.33 parts.
Of course, we've included a number of special parts to accurately recreate the details of this hastily constructed self-propelled gun.
This kit uses assembly-type Magic Tracks for the tracks, which allow for a realistic finish, and aluminum parts are used for the barrel.
The rifling is also engraved, giving it a realistic texture.
The gun is also reproduced in full detail, with every corner of the fighting compartment meticulously modelled.
You can enjoy the mechanical finish that is unique to an open-top vehicle.
The shape of the armored gun shield at the front of the fighting compartment, the side armor plates, and the storage box attached on top of them are all accurately reproduced.
Additionally, a luggage rack is included at the rear of the engine deck using etched parts.
In the record photos, the rack appears to be loaded with jerry cans and bags, so I'm looking forward to trying out different arrangements.
The underside of the Panzer III tank is also recreated in a unique way by Dragon.
This unique vehicle is a must-have for any Afrika Korps collection or diorama production.
