[About the actual machine]
The F-104J Starfighter [Eiko] was a fighter interceptor used by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force from 1962 to 1997.
Development began in the United States in 1952, and the first flight was in 1954.
The US Air Force began operating it in 1954.
It has a unique style that resembles a rocket with wings, and is equipped with a General Electric J79 turbojet engine.
It boasted a top speed of Mach 2.
In addition to the United States, it was also adopted by Germany and other North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries, and was also deployed by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
The single-seater F-104J and the two-seater F-104DJ were deployed, and it is said that 210 F-104J aircraft were deployed.

[About the kit]
This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the F-104J operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
This kit comes with a set of etching parts for adding detail, which are sold separately.
This set is more economical and convenient than purchasing the items separately.
The model has a finished length of approximately 347mm, and the parts are made by Kinetech with a sharp finish, realistically recreating the distinctive slim and sharp appearance.
Not only the shape but also the panel lines are expressed accurately, giving a real sense of the finished product.
The reproduction of fine detail has the density that only a 1/48 scale can provide.
Delicate details such as the interior of the cockpit, legs, and the interior of the leg wells enhance the finish.
A radar is also modeled inside the nose cone.
The airbrake can be assembled either opened or closed, and the equipment cover at the rear of the cockpit can also be assembled either opened or closed.
This set also includes etching parts for adding detail in an original Platz design.
Parts include an instrument panel with color-printed meters, as well as parts that express details such as the leg storage compartments.
Additionally, the set includes a flight tag that can be attached to a parked aircraft.
Printed on both sides to enhance the look of the finished model.
The aircraft's markings are reproduced using special markings made by Cartograf of Italy, which were applied in 1984 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the 204th Squadron.
