Product Description
Introducing a new 1/72 scale full resin kit from Hungary's SBS Models.
The S.4 was a racing aircraft designed and built for the 1925 Schneider Trophy Race.
The aircraft, with its innovative mid-wing monoplane design by chief designer RJ Mitchell and powered by a 700 horsepower Napier Lion W-12 water-cooled engine, set a new world record for seaplane speed, 222.12 mph (364.922 km/h) just three weeks after its first flight.
However, when it took part in the Schneider Trophy Race in Maryland, USA in October 1925, it was damaged when landing in the Chesapeake Bay during pre-race practice.
The kit includes 3D printed fluted struts, etched parts, paint mask stickers, transparency film for the instrument panel, and one type of decal.
SBS Model's full resin kits are kits created by the manufacturer with the modeler's perspective in mind, prioritizing ease of assembly and keeping the number of parts as compact as possible, even with the delicate details that are difficult to reproduce with injection molding.
