[About the actual machine]
The Italian Fiat CR.42 Falco was a biplane fighter plane that saw action throughout World War II.
This biplane fighter aircraft, which entered service in 1935, was developed as an advanced version of the Fiat CR.32.
It first flew in 1938 and entered service in 1939.
This continued until the end of World War II.
Although it was a biplane, the upper wing was designed to be larger than the lower wing, giving it excellent maneuverability.
The engine is a Fiat A.74R1C.38 air-cooled radial engine.
The top speed was 441km/h4.
The armament consisted of one Breda SAFAT 7.7mm machine gun and one Breda SAFAT 12.7mm machine gun, while later models were equipped with two Breda SAFAT 12.7mm machine guns.
In addition to being used as a fighter, it also served as a ground attack and night fighter.
It was used by the Italian Air Force as well as the German military.
